TERRY WALKDEN has found art making to be a great pleasure and participates in both AOS Painting and Ceramic studios. He pays close attention to detail in all that he creates. Terry’s curiosity has led him to some unique experiments this year. In painting studio he made a composition of fabric applique by drawing with colored pencils, then hand-stitching to complete his design. In ceramic studio he carved a bas-relief plaque with a bird. Unfortunately, the large tile cracked in the firing, but with a supportive wooden mount the finished art is even more exceptional. Terry is a hard worker and often assists in AOS tile production.

FRED WAGNER is a very creative guy! He has been making his unique artistic statements in both AOS Painting and Ceramic studios for 13 years. Fred prefers to use markers colored pencils and pens on paper for his colorful geometric designs. However, inspired by a visitor’s purse, he substitutedfabric markers to design cloth for his “Fashion Model Bag”. In Ceramic studio Fred is even more adventurous. He enriches his pottery and clever sculptural forms with incised lines, glazes with vivid colors and gives his art imaginative titles. (Tokyo is a favorite subject.) Fred may be a quiet worker, but he has a fantastic sense of humor.

TONY RINGHOLZ

If you haven’t visited Tony’s page in our Artist Gallery, you have missed some beautiful oil paintings that he has made from photos taken on his travels. As we feature this talented artist we share his passion for another subject – Cedar Point. Tony can relate trivia past and present of this popular theme park. He visits Cedar Point weekly through the summer season and loves to paint images that represent the thrill of the famous roller coasters he rides. Tony balances a busy schedule between work, gardening, sports, travel and riding coasters but finds time to paint with his friends at Artists’ Open Studio.

JESSE FIELDS

As we begin our third year of blogging, we would like to introduce one of our newest artists, Jesse Fields as Artist of the Month. Here is a photo of him with his work at his first Visions Revealed show last June. Since then Jesse has been prolific. We are giving you a sneak peek at just one of his acrylic paintings that will be displayed at our Visions Revealed 2016 Exhibit. It opens on June 17th. Come see what Jesse and his friends have to share.

Nearly 100 artists and guests gathered June 19th at the Ernsthausen Performing Arts Center Gallery to enjoy the opening reception of the 2015 Visions Revealed Art Exhibit. Paintings, drawings, ceramic art, fiber art and photography make up this diverse display by artists from Huron, Erie and Seneca Counties. The event kicked off a month-long show open to the public Tuesdays and Thursdays between 9:00 am. and noon through July 16. On July 17 from 5:00 - 8:00 pm. "Evening at the Arts" with Fisher-Titus Autism Spectrum Kids will bring the exhibit to a exciting close.

It's show time! The Ernsthausen Gallery is resplendent with colorful paintings and pottery. We are anxious to welcome guests - no charge - just fun. Of course there will be art and products that you just won't be able to go home without, so you may want to bring your wallet.

We are dedicating this year's show to the memory of the late Richard Coombs, an artist from Artists' Open Studio whose smile greets us each time we open our website. He is greatly missed.

See you at the show!
