AOS Artists
ALLISON GREEN is one of our newest artists and has particular interest in illustration. We are impressed by her ability to create these imaginative drawings with such ease, and have been told she has been working on her drawings at home for quite a while. We are excited to represent Allison and show off her talents to the community!
ANDY KIRKPATRICK may not have a lot to say, but he knows that bold color makes a brilliant statement. Making those color choices and applying paint in his own particular way makes Andy’s work truly unique and attractive to his collectors all over the US.
ANGI LESCH makes bold creative art statements. She likes to explore with various art media and innovative techniques until her ideas evolve into a pleasing design. Her use of geometric shapes is common in most of her work, but Angi loves to surprise us.
ASHLEY PAYNE explores subject matter, styles and techniques with acrylic paints. Ashley has many passions in life. She is speaks out for individuals with developmental disabilities and represents her fellow artists on the Artists’ Open Studio, Inc. Board of Directors.
BARBARA SEEVERS devotes most of her time in our studios making bold designs in her favorite medium – colored pencil. Flowers are often her subjects, but her dark paper backgrounds sometimes become filled with fascinating shapes that only she can identify.
BEN VANDERPOOL is discovering ways to channel his incredible motivation for textiles into figurative, three dimensional pieces. You never know Ben’s creative secrets, but he impresses us with his imagination and commitment to a task.
BRENDA MACKEY is a very determined artist with a vision for her ceramic projects and how to accomplish her work. Brenda often includes bas-relief designs to the surfaces of her pottery.
BRIAN ROWE works in ceramics and is a huge fan of Professional Wrestling. Brian’s ideas have been a unique test but his imagination has given dimension that only ceramics can offer. He has created beautiful sculptural works of animals, and functional pottery such as vases and mugs. We enjoy watching Brian’s creative confidence build in the studio.
CHARLES KROMER shares his great personality as he works with his friends in our ceramic studio. His work is totally unique and often expresses positivity and his great sense of humor.
CHRISTINA ROGERS loves working with clay and she handles it with the same determination that she uses in other life activities. Manipulating slabs of clay into graceful vases is one of Christina's specialties.
COLTON WILSON joined AOS ceramics in the fall of 2017. New to the clay process, Colton creates unique sculptural forms, many of which he has taken home to enjoy. So don’t miss out when a Colton original is up for sale!
DEB SCHAFFER is a very determined ceramic artist who lets nothing stand in the way of her desire to make pottery. Her most recent works show her interest in new shapes, textures and glaze combinations.
DEBBIE DIETRICH loves to make art! She creates meticulous tessellation drawings in colored pencil, paints with acrylics and forms lovely clay bowls. Debbie tells us that her after-work studio time offers her a great opportunity to relax.
DENNIS RANDLEMAN has joined his friends in the joy of making ceramic pottery. We look forward to sharing his accomplishments as he continues to craft new pieces.
DON RISNER keeps evolving as a ceramic artist, but his beautifully glazed, decoratively carved plates might be his signature style.
DONNA LICHVARCIK came to AOS enjoying creating fashion drawings on female figures, inspired by different inspirational eras of fashion. Recently Donna has explored acrylic painting on canvas.
FRED WAGNER has been coming to Artists' Open Studio since 2004 to interpret his imaginations into visual art forms for us to enjoy.
HALLIE COX reveals her gentle determination with a delicate touch in her drawings and paintings. We look forward to more art from Hallie in the future.
JAMES O’DOR’s most effective means of communication is through his art and he continues to amaze us at AOS with his fascinating drawings of everyday scenes and his skills as a mosaic artist. Each year he seems to have a different theme for his creations.
JEFFREY GREGORY shows skills in painting realistically with acrylic, and yet shares a whimsical style with some illustration interest in drawing media. He’s a friend to all and comes to AOS studios with a passion for art and motivation to create.
JEREMY RISNER makes his way to both painting and ceramic studios each week to keep his creative spirit satisfied. His gently rendered paintings are done in colored pencil, watercolor or acrylic paints and the glazes on Jeremy’s ceramic pieces often resemble the delicacy of his paintings.
JESSE FIELDS has developed a fascination for bright acrylic colors which he applies in swift expressive strokes. A piece titled “Jesse’s Comet” won first place at VSA Ohio’s annual Accessible Expressions exhibit in 2018. Jesse also has an impressive portfolio of paintings which will continue to appear in his gallery.
JIM MOSES is credited with igniting the fire that started Artists’ Open Studio back in 2004; therefore, Jim is one of our “Charter Artists”. He continues to create intriguing stoneware pottery and sculpture at AOS and at home.
JOAN HAHLER creates top-secret colored pencil drawings without a verbal hint of her contemplations. It is up to the imaginative viewer to guess what might be happening in Joan’s cheerful little vignettes.
JOE CONWAY does fantastic renditions of his favorite comic heroes drawn larger than life in colored pencil. He is always willing to teach us about comic book facts as he is extremely knowledgeable about the subjects that he draws. Joe is very prolific, and usually accomplishes one drawing per studio day!
JUDY HERSHA is fond of blue! Even her signature weed pot designs are blue this year. She glazes her pottery in layers so that her favorite sky tones are enhanced with golden yellows and greens.
JULEE GROSS works as a school receptionist, but has found time for AOS Painting Studio. She has been exploring watercolor paints, pencils, and markers as she expresses her love for nature. We certainly enjoy her enthusiasm as she discovers her personal skills.
LINDA ANDERSON challenges herself with difficult subjects and techniques in both AOS Painting and Ceramic studios. Her greatest reward is a feeling of independence in her art making.
LINDA DAMRON embellishes all her work with beads and with ease. Her favorite technique is stitchery, but some mixed media collage and paint pieces can be found in her work. If you know Linda, you know her favorite subject will always be flowers!
MARK HOFFMAN always wants to spend some quiet time drawing with his friends at Artists’ Open Studio. He interprets his architectural and animal subjects in freely drawn lines with a few symbolic features to catch our attention. Mark may be limited in verbal expression, but he loves to share his art with those who appreciate what he has to say visually.
MARK MACKIN begins his large ceramic pieces with coils of clay laid in random positions; then, he rolls the clay thin and manipulates it to stand tall for the final design. Mark makes show stopping pieces!
MARK STRAKA likes a challenge and started his ceramic art endeavors by making a couple of unique tea pots which were quickly sold. We open Mark’s gallery with anticipation of other great pieces.
MEGAN HARVEY comes to AOS with lots of enthusiasm, skills and more ideas to try than time to do them all. Megan already shows growth in her perception and interpretation of the animal subjects she has chosen!
MICHAEL TKACH - After questioning his abilities, Michael is beginning to realize some confidence in his new-found art skills! Michael remains energetic, open to trying new things, and is building his independence and creative confidence in studio.
NATE LUCAL developed a passion for painting and a renewed curiosity for subjects and techniques. His work is quickly drawing attention of customers as he is hones latent skills and experiments with new materials and methods. Nate paints both at home and in AOS painting studio groups.
NINA HUNTER is a busy young lady working at various jobs, yet she finds time to pursue her interests in painting and making colorful ceramic art with Artists’ Open Studio. We appreciate her energy and enthusiasm in all that she does.
RICK FLETCHER has an interest in American History, movies, and cartoons, which he displays in his work. Although Rick has explored different media in studio such as watercolor and acrylic, his colored pencil drawings seem to stand out in the crowd!
SANDY DONNAMILLER draws colorfully designed abstractions which she often uses for collage work. But, Sandy’s favorite art medium is threads. She unravels threads from fabrics, sorts the colors and adheres them with other found objects into richly textured and colorful montage art.
SHEA COLLINS makes beautiful stoneware bowls, jars and vases. She has also become enamored with making fish; repeating the simple shape to create unique, hand-made curios for your collection.
TAMMY TWADDLE was one of the Charter Artists of Artists’ Open Studio. She has been drawing and painting with us since 2004. In recent years, Tammy has begun drawing and painting with colored pencil and acrylics on fabric. Taking it a step further, she often embellishes this work with stitches, beads and found objects. Tammy’s progression to mixed-media art seems to fit her well.
TERRY WALKDEN has found a comfortable place to “let go his creativity” at both AOS Ceramic and Painting Studios. With a bit of instruction and a burst of self-confidence, Terry has surprised himself with his latent skills. Art making is his new favorite activity.
TIM SMITH loves to draw – really loves to draw! His subjects range from meticulous renderings of house floor plans and building to animals or his favorite celebrities. Tim has been making art at AOS since 2004. He works exclusively with ball point pen, markers or colored pencils.
TRACEY LYNCH might be described as an artist of whimsy. Both her drawings and her ceramics are full of quirky lines and shapes with colorful glazes and clever names. Hang one of her original creations on your wall and bring a smile to your day.
TROY SCHRADER - After a few hesitant drawings of familiar subjects, Troy decided to paint. We are sure that he will be ready to paint more in the future as he has made and sold many terrific pieces.
TONY RINGHOLZ – what an enthusiastic painter he is! He would spend his whole day in AOS Painting Studio if his work schedule and ours would allow. His work has been included in several VSA Ohio touring exhibits.
